HAPPY NATIONAL CUPCAKE DAY!
In celebration of the National Cupcake Day this year, our designer drew all the members of the team as cupcakes.
I will always call a dog a puppy, be it ten days or ten years old. The rest of the world’s population I refer to as kittens.
I love puppies. I’m a dog person. A puppy person. When I grow up (she says, mid 20’s), I’m getting two big rescue dogs. Snow dogs, I’m Scandinavian.
But back to reality for now. These days, reality’s not all that bad. I’m animating Sprinkle’s protagonist, Zap the friendly balloon puppy. As Zap’s movement is based on that of a real puppy, I get to spend my days looking at puppy references.
Here’s some gold to make you smile:
This is my favourite thing ever:

COLOUR PALETTES AND OTHER STORIES
A couple of days ago someone mentioned to me that Sprinkle’s colour palette had taken a darker turn than what he first expected. Not as a critical comment, but rather a neutral reflection.
It occurred to me that I hadn’t worked on the colour palette for a while. Looking at the evolution of the palette, I can see what my friend meant.
Today I’ve come back to a colour scheme I looked into earlier in the year: galaxy colours!
Some of you might have read my previous post on the search for inspiration. Some of you may not have. Those of you who did will know that I’m very easily distracted. As soon as I get bored, my mind bounces over to daydreams of things I’d rather be doing. So, in March this year, when we were creating spreadsheets and making plans for the remainder of the year, I started daydreaming about spending a year in Sweden (I don’t know why Sweden) doing nothing but learning to play instruments and painting ukuleles. This is what sparked the idea:
As I was playing around with texture painting today, this ukulele tutorial popped back into my head. I had a look at some galaxy-themed artwork, and I’m thinking the art style should head in this direction.
To be honest, I lied. There are no other stories in this post.
Until later, friends

Why change a title that works?
Hi world! My name is Benita, and I’m the game designer for Sprinkle Palooza. I’m very excited to start rambling on this dev blog, but for today all I have is a screenshot.
